An international team of speleologists has reached the world’s deepest cave situated in Abkhazia in the South Caucasus - the Krubera -Voronya Cave, BNS Agency reported on August 10. One of its members, a Ukrainian , Gennady Samokhin, reached the depth of 2,197 metres, thus, improving his own depth record by 6 metres.The Krubera-Voronya Cave was discovered in 1960.
