NASA has picked three private aerospace companies to build small rocketships to ferry astronauts to the International Space Station. The decision comes as part of NASA's efforts to get private space companies to take over the job of the now-retired space shuttle. Until the new spacecraft is ready, NASA is paying Russia to do the job of ferrying American astronauts and cargoes to the ISS.NASA decided to assign to creation of a new space taxi to private companies while it concentrates on the development of a new ship for distant spaceflights.
